The author initially examines some general characteristics possibly shared by almost all psychoanalyst, particularly analytic identity and analytic listening. He then takes into consideration some aspects of the analyst´s person, his uniqueness, his life and analytic experiences and describes this person as a, work in progress throughout all his analytic life cycle.
