Abstract

Synopsis of the film: After interpreting a poignant area of Il Rigolleto, the renowned baritone Joachim Dallayrac addresses the audience who applaud enthusiastically and announce that this will be his last public performance. A mature, reserved man with an eccentric personality, Dallayrac surprises everyone with his inflexible attitude. Soon after, he retires to his mansion in the campaign, staying there away from any social interaction. At the request of a friend, he decides to take the young and beautiful Sophie as a student, who, of course, succumbs to her fascination with the master. Shortly after, Jean enters the scene, a boy attracted to delinquency, but who arouses the interest of the master for his promising vocal ability. Dallayrac welcomes Jean into his home, introducing him to the art of lyrical singing.
