This article discusses the role of Conversation Circles (CC) as a device for containment and processing trauma in a school in the periphery of Porto Alegre, where a six-year-old boy suffered mistreatment at home. Based on an educator's account, it explores how CCs can help the school community deal with the repercussions of trauma, promoting the circulation of words, the symbolization of painful experiences, and the construction of healthier bonds. It concludes that CCs are an essential tool for transforming suffering into integrated narratives and promoting collective resilience.
