An intuition of the aesthetic paradigm in Freud? Reflections on the aesthetic paradigm of psychoanalysis and on developments in metapsychology

The author starts with the idea that the aesthetic paradigm of psychoanalysis consists of understanding aesthetic experience and its range of emotions as the first category of knowledge in psychoanalysis, followed by symbolic transformations leading to increasingly abstract thoughts. Considering that several of Freud’s fundamental contributions stem from the creator of psychoanalysis’s own intense aesthetic experiences, the author questions whether this might constitute an intuition of the aesthetic paradigm in the classical model of psychoanalysis.
