Abstract

Revisiting My heart belongs to daddy: reflections on the subject and its others

Starting from a clinical case, the paper describes an identification process found in analytic listening that articulates the intrapsychic drive and the intersubjective history. That process is thought to attack the capacity to think of the subject, condemning the latter to compulsively repeat a past that could never exist. Even though the identification is inevitable from an evolutionary diachronic perspective, since it is subjectively structured, the author considers that it is only a transitory station and not the final destination, because it contains heteronomous potential.

Keywords: identification, internalization, thinking, history, intrapsychic, intersubjective, Oedipus, enactment, agieren, psychical gesture, dramatic representation.
